Workshop overview:
Wondering if you have enough experience to make the most of a workshop with John Paul Caponigro? Consider taking this one day introductory session with Arduina Palanca. She'll get you up to speed in no time.
Digital imaging is rocket science, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to use it - all you have to know is how to drive it. In these hands-on intensives customized specifically for you, you'll learn the essential tools you need.
Studio session topics include quick and easy color management (all you need to know to make it work and nothing more), managing the print center and printer drivers, navigating Photoshop efficiently, a streamlined editing strategy (adjustment layers, layers, basic layer masking, basic layer sharpening), and more. You'll get a distilled overview of how to prepare your digital files to achieve the finest quality possible.
Field session topics cover identifying essential camera controls; streamlined downloading, filing, storage, and backup practices; the pros and cons of various file formats; DNG conversions; using Adobe Bridge to view, rank, and sort your files; basic Camera Raw conversions; and more. You'll learn essential techniques to streamline your workflow.
Along with his book, Adobe Photoshop Master Class, and CD, available only through his workshops, John Paul's Photoshop Actions will help set it all up for you. Arduina will show you how to use them. She'll even show you how to create your own. You'll learn dozens of simple and effective strategies for getting things done.
Being prepared means you get to focus more on your images and less on hardware and software. By the end of the session you'll have all the basics down and be ready for more.
The session runs from 1-5 p.m. on the Sunday before a week-long workshop with John Paul begins. All sessions are held in the Caponigro Arts studio.
This workshop is right for you if:
You want a quick refresher, you want to fill in the gaps in your digital imaging skills, or you want to refine a specific area of interest.
Workshop requirements:
A basic comfort level with Photoshop is required for all of John Paul's sessions.
