There\u2019s magnificent landscape; towering mountains, magnificent glaciers calving massive icebergs, remote islands. There\u2019s fascinating culture; one active Inuit village (Itoquortormitt) and several ancient Thule ruins. There\u2019s vibrant wildlife; in order of guaranteed to see to might get lucky enough to see \u2013 a multitude of sea birds, seals, whales, musk ox, fox, walrus, and polar bears. Now imagine all of this under northern lights. There\u2019s only one charter flight to Greenland; you don\u2019t want to miss it.\u00a0If you miss the special charter flight to Constable Pynt, you\u2019ll miss the whole voyage. And, plan to return at least a day after landing in Reykjavik. While it\u2019s not typical, weather could delay your departure.<br \/><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Day 1 \u2013 Embarkation Day \/ Iceland to Greenland<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ll fly from Reykjav\u00edk to Constable Pynt, Greenland for embarcation at 16:00 hours<\/span>\u00a0<br \/><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Day 2 \u2013 10\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"s1\"><strong>\u2013 Scoresbysund Fiord System<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span class=\"s2\">You\u2019ll\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">sail deep into Scoresbysund and find yourself mesmerized by the largest, longest, and \u2013 some say \u2013 most beautiful fjord system in the world. One of the most active fiord systems in the world, more than six fiords (Nordvestfiord, Ofiord, Rypefiord, Rodefiord, Fonfiord Gasefiord) feed the vast Scoresbysund that leads to the open oceans of the north Atlantic. The ice conditions are stellar. Huge tabular icebergs that have broken off these many glaciers perpetually dot the sky line as they weave in and out of the scattered islands. Surrounded by majestic peaks, they\u2019re magnificent in any light, but especially when there\u2019s rich color in the sky at sunrise and sunset; the reflected light from the red cliffs of Rodefiord at dawn is stunning.\u00a0When there are clear skies, you\u2019ll have an opportunity to see the amazing northern lights.<\/span><br \/><span class=\"s1\">Because the sailboat and its two Zodiacs are dedicated to our group we\u2019ll be able to go where we want, when we want, and stay as long as we\u2019d like \u2013 but you may never want to leave.<\/span><br \/><span class=\"s3\">During your voyage, you\u2019ll visit the town of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Itoqqortoormitt (East Greenland\u2019s most northerly community) and have an opportunity to see and purchase unique handicrafts from the local Inuit artisan community.<\/span><br \/><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Day 11 \u2013 Disembarkation Day\/ Greenland to Iceland<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span class=\"s1\">You\u2019ll disembark at Constable Pynt at 09:00 for your flight back to Reyjavik.<\/span><br \/><em>Accommodation and food for this night is not included.<\/em><br \/><em>Again, it\u2019s recommended that you plan to spend an extra night or two before departing, in case there are flight delays from Greenland.<\/em><br \/><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Come Early \/ Stay Late<\/strong><\/span><br \/><span class=\"s1\"><em>Before and\/or after your voyage, plan a little extra time to see the epic landscapes of Iceland. (The boat makes a wonderful photographic subject.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Its 16 cabins can hold a total of 33 passengers, but we\u2019ve limited the number of participants (so everyone can be in the Zodiacs at the same time) and most people will have their own cabins, each with it\u2019s own facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The 12 person staff of the Rembrandt include 9 sailors, 2 guides, and 1 cook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">2 Zodiacs will provide us additional flexibility to weave our way through the ice fields and get as close as we can, as long as it\u2019s safe to do so.
