My Fine Art Digital Printing DVD offers many simple solutions to common problems. Here’s one …

maintenancetank

Problem
My printer won’t print because the maintenance tank is full.

Solution
Replace the maintenance tank.

Maintenance tanks catch excess ink during printing. Always have an extra maintenance tank on hand. It takes a lot of printing to fill up a maintenance tank, but when it’s full the printer won’t print. If you don’t have one on hand you’ll have to go get one or wait for delivery. If you do have one on hand you can simply replace it and keep printing.

Maintenance tanks are used to collect waste ink during the printing process. You can’t keep printing once your maintenance tank is full. Keep one extra tank on hand. Many old maintenance tanks work with the new printers, particularly the latest printers.

Ink cartridges first have to prime the printer tubes on initial installation. They have to purge shipping fluid designed to prevent clogging during storage. This doesn’t waste ink you paid for. Neither does the ink left in the cartridge when it runs out. There’s actually more ink in the cartridges than listed on the label.
